Hermès Assistant Designer — Large-Scale Projects (Internship)

Overview

Hermès Horizons is a specialised entity within Hermès Sellier’s leather goods métier, dedicated to the development, production and commercialisation of bespoke projects that span traditional Hermès savoir‑faire and ambitious large‑scale commissions (automotive, aeronautical, nautical and unique objets). The team operates at the intersection of artisanal craft and industrial collaboration, leveraging Hermès’ hallmark attention to materials, finish and detail.

Role & Responsibilities

• Support a senior designer on multiple bespoke vehicle projects: project tracking, specification updates and coordination of technical information.
• Produce and update technical documentation including 2D plans, technical datasheets and explanatory fiches.
• Create and maintain visual assets: update renders, prepare presentation visuals and undertake image retouching.
• Contribute to concept work alongside the designer: inspiration research (moodboards), material and colour exploration, and basic 3D modelling.
• Structure and archive legacy projects: digitise documents, centralise information and produce clear InDesign presentations.

Qualifications

• Master’s level (Bac +4/5) in Design — Automotive design, Naval architecture or Product design from a recognised design school.
• Fluent in French and English (oral and written).
• Proven proficiency in Rhinocéros (Rhinoceros) 3D, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign (mandatory).
• Strong sensitivity to colour, materials and finish; meticulous attention to detail.
• Organised, adaptable, proactive and comfortable liaising with diverse stakeholders.
• Interest in vehicles of all types; prior internship or project experience in automotive/product design is an advantage.

Open to candidates with limited professional experience; beginners and recent graduates are accepted. Prior internships or project work in automotive, naval architecture or product design are valued.

Education

Bac +4/5 (Master level) from a design school — specialisation in Automotive Design, Naval Architecture, Product Design or equivalent.
