Role & Responsibilities
- Assist the Cultural Heritage Department and Artistic Director in the material management and preventive conservation of the Emile Hermès Collection, including handling, installation and location tracking of objects.
- Receive and process new acquisitions; install works in storage; monitor transfers and locations between reserves.
- Coordinate logistics for restorations, framing, mounting and transport; prepare packing specifications, packing lists and condition reports for loans and exhibitions; supervise condition checking and packing operations.
- Mark and label objects as required; order packaging and conservation supplies; participate in collection handling during museum events, maintenance or works.
- Maintain and enrich the photographic catalogue (Ajaris): create inventory records, take and upload photographs, and update existing object files.
- Perform occasional physical inventories (récolement), draft object labels and notices for loans, publications or store displays, and conduct documentary research to support curatorial projects.
Qualifications
- Advanced studies in art history, collection management, museum studies or cultural heritage administration; training or experience in preventive conservation is an asset.
- Practical knowledge of collection documentation and inventory procedures; familiarity with Ajaris is a plus.
- Strong written communication and drafting skills for condition reports, labels and notices.
- Fluent English (spoken and written); precision, rigor and methodical working habits.
- Interest in cultural heritage, artistic sensitivity, strong interpersonal skills and capacity for teamwork.
