Hermès seeks an Assistant Buyer, Quality to support leather and fabric procurement for women's ready-to-wear in Pantin, France. Full-time contract role.
Role & Responsibilities
- Draft structural quality control documentation for leather materials, including control protocols for hides, leather kits, and leather supplies
- Develop pass/fail quality standards for primary leather types used in women's ready-to-wear collections (deer, lamb, and calf)
- Participate in material quality risk reviews and track dashboard metrics for seasonal industrialization initiatives
- Execute stock releases to make samples available for safety and compliance testing
- Monitor supplier delivery dashboards aligned with leather selection mix
- Verify production lot conformity with collection specifications for selected fabric suppliers and formalize approvals with stakeholders including suppliers and quality control centers
- Collect and update production constraints in management systems (MOQ, MCQ, lead times)
- Author quality validation and deviation protocols for distribution to quality assurance teams
- Attend regular production progress meetings and contribute to end-of-season review documentation and business reviews
- Prepare reports on supplier visits (France and Italy) with professional formatting and photography
- Coordinate and organize 3–4 monthly business reviews at the Pantin headquarters with key suppliers, including meeting room reservations, catering arrangements, and stakeholder coordination
Qualifications
- Engineering degree with textile specialization (e.g. ENSAIT, ITECH, ENSISA) or equivalent
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational capabilities and attention to detail
- Demonstrated curiosity and proactive problem-solving mindset
- Fluent proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- English fluency; Italian language skills preferred
