Role & Responsibilities
- Perform revenue reconciliations including sales, bank, receivable, and customer financial flow reconciliations across all stores and e-commerce channels
- Monitor aged receivables to ensure timely collection and investigate discrepancies to mitigate bad debt risks
- Execute cash reconciliation and arrange cash collection and float deliveries for retail locations
- Prepare recharge invoices for non-retail clients and corporate orders
- Conduct regular reviews of sales receipts to ensure compliance with regulatory and Hermès group requirements; escalate non-compliance transaction reports to store management
- Generate daily, weekly, monthly, and annual sales reports in accordance with established reporting periods
- Manage and resolve enquiries from external stakeholders including TRS and Insurance providers
- Facilitate customer refunds and assist retail stores in resolving customer disputes
- Investigate and resolve transaction-related issues on retail systems (Cegid) in collaboration with the retail network
- Monitor sales transaction interfaces to SAP, investigate and resolve discrepancies or interface issues
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation status reports and investigate outstanding items
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for accounts receivable and related accounts
- Prepare monthly turnover reports using the Hermès group reporting tool (Magnitude)
- Communicate monthly sales advice to relevant stakeholders
- Prepare and communicate monthly treasury compliance reports to the group treasury team
- Prepare monthly shrinkage reports on till discrepancies with adequate documentation
- Reconcile GST and PAYG in the accounting system and prepare and lodge monthly Business Activity Statements (BAS) in accordance with statutory requirements
- Assist in annual external audit processes
- Support accounting governance reviews (GEO) to ensure compliance with Hermès group requirements
- Participate in finance-related training delivery to retail stores
- Support the internal control department in implementing retail activity-related policies
- Participate in annual stock-takes
- Execute additional finance-related projects and ad-hoc tasks as required
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in accounting or finance
- CA (Chartered Accountant) or CPA (Certified Practising Accountant) qualification
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a similar accounting or receivables role
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrated experience with enterprise accounting systems (SAP) and retail systems (Cegid, Magnitude, Planning Analytics)
- Strong capability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to independently communicate with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work autonomously and flexibly adapt to changing requirements
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a similar accounting role, preferably within a retail, luxury, or multi-site environment. Direct experience with accounts receivable management, revenue reconciliation, and month-end/year-end closing processes is essential.
Education
Tertiary qualification in accounting or finance is required. A professional accounting designation such as CA (Chartered Accountant) or CPA (Certified Practising Accountant) is strongly preferred.
