Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform archival processing of institutional fonds: arrangement, description and physical handling according to archival best practice.
  • Produce scholarly reference material including historiograms, biographies, bibliographies and source guides to support internal research and curatorial needs.
  • Contribute to a project on preserving Hermès’ oral memory, including interview documentation and metadata capture.
  • Catalogue and index photographs, documents and communications assets to established metadata standards to improve discoverability.
  • Support digitization workflows, basic conservation handling and the preparation of materials for internal consultation.
  • Assist the Documentation team with research requests, reference queries and the maintenance of archival inventories.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in final year of bachelor (L3) or Master 1/Master 2 in Information Science/Documentation, Archives, Digital Humanities, economic/institutional history, art history or decorative arts specialization.
  • First professional experience in archives, documentation or corporate heritage is desirable; beginners accepted.
  • Highly organised and extremely rigorous with a strong sense of service and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity to the decorative arts and high‑end product environments.
  • Ability to produce clear written research outputs (biographies, bibliographies, source guides).

Experience

Candidate may be an entry-level student; prior internship or professional experience in documentation, archives or a cultural heritage environment is an advantage but not mandatory (beginners accepted).

Education
