Hermès — Pantin (Île‑de‑France): Senior AI Solution Engineer. Lead design and industrialisation of LLM and AI architectures for production at Hermès.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assess technical feasibility of proposed AI use-cases and determine pre-project constraints and requirements.
- Design end-to-end AI solution architectures: LLM selection, vector stores and Feature Stores, SQL/NoSQL choices, integration patterns, API exposure and front‑end interfaces.
- Define model integration contracts and operational handover specifications for the Lead ML Engineer.
- Design solutions for production operability from the outset (drift thresholds, rollback strategies, runbooks) to be implemented by ML operations.
- Coordinate delivery of AI projects with Data Scientists, Lead ML Engineer and Product Managers to ensure timely, production-ready outcomes.
- Maintain and evolve AI reference designs: validated patterns catalogue, technology recommendations and make‑vs‑buy assessments for AI components.
- Contribute expertise to the house’s AI governance on topics within the candidate's remit.
- Present and defend architectural decisions to the Design Authority and incorporate validation feedback into designs.
- Actively contribute to SecuredGPT development and serve as a reference user of LLMHub to surface field requirements.
- Conduct continuous technological watch on AI trends and translate ecosystem shifts into actionable roadmap directions.
- Facilitate cross‑team collaboration between Core AI, Lead ML Engineer and Design Authority to secure end‑to‑end technical coherence.
Qualifications
- Minimum six years' experience in AI engineering, data solution architecture or equivalent, with exposure to production ML projects.
- Proven ability to produce rigorous architecture dossiers and defend technical choices before a Design Authority.
- Deep understanding of cloud architectures and AI deployment patterns from model to front‑end.
- Expertise with LLMs and associated usage patterns (RAG, agents, function calling), plus methods for evaluation and optimisation.
- Familiarity with modern data stores and MLOps practices sufficient to design operable production architectures.
- Structured approach to technical watch and the ability to convert research trends into pragmatic product directions.
- Strong communication and pedagogical skills to collaborate with Data Scientists, engineering leads and business stakeholders.

Experience
Minimum six years' professional experience in AI engineering or data/solution architecture, including delivery of machine learning models into production and collaboration with cross‑functional product and engineering teams.
Education
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
