Hermès Australia seeks an Accounts Payable Assistant in Sydney to manage full‑cycle AP, payments and month‑end support.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage full‑cycle accounts payable: review and process supplier invoices, match to purchase orders and post journal entries in the accounting system.
  • Execute weekly payment runs and prepare remittances to vendors.
  • Maintain and update vendor master data and user records in procurement platforms; resolve vendor and user AP enquiries.
  • Process employee expense claims and verify compliance with Travel & Expense thresholds and policies.
  • Ensure correct accounting coding (GL accounts, analytical allocations, tax codes) for all invoices and transactions.
  • Operate AP workflows through online platforms (MEO/Coupa and SAP) including exception resolution and approvals follow‑up.
  • Support month‑end close activities: prepare AP accruals, aged payable reports and consolidated AP summaries; assist with actuals vs. PO reconciliations.
  • Manage the central Accounts Payable inbox, distributing and escalating communications in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to ad‑hoc finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives within the finance team.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in accounting or finance.
  • Working towards or completed CA/CPA accreditation is highly regarded.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
  • Minimum of one year of hands‑on Accounts Payable experience in a comparable role.

Experience

Minimum one year of direct Accounts Payable experience, with demonstrated exposure to purchase order workflows, payment runs and month‑end AP reconciliations. Experience using Coupa (MEO), SAP/VIM and Concur is highly desirable.

Education

Tertiary qualification in accounting or finance; progress toward CA or CPA preferred.
