Hermès seeks an Accounting Intern for its five-month Generation H program, scheduled January 11–June 28, 2027, at its New York City headquarters. The in-person internship may be full-time or part-time to accommodate an academic schedule; part-time hours are more than 15 and fewer than 35 per week. Interns are paid US$20 per hour and participate in a speaker series, receive mentor coaching, network with stakeholders and collaborate on a Generation H capstone project.
Role & Responsibilities
- Monitor, investigate and report credit card disputes, collaborating with store directors to ensure responses are submitted to merchant services promptly.
- Participate in periodic hard-close processes, including reconciling balance sheet accounts, investigating discrepancies and performing clearing activities in SAP.
- Assist with monthly journal entries and perform account true-ups.
- Perform intercompany bill-backs and reconciliations.
- Support the lease accounting project by creating or updating a dynamic Excel database of leases and related documents, and completing a new Lease Abstract Form for every lease.
- Assist Accounts Payable with travel and expense matters as needed.
- Support the Accounting department on ad hoc projects, including audits.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in an associate, bachelor's or master's degree program.
- Expertise in Excel, including Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, H-Lookups, Index/Match and Sumifs, preferred.
- Knowledge of SAP and retail POS software is a plus.
- Regular in-person work at a company-designated location is an essential function of the position.
