Hermès İstanbul seeks an Accountant in Istanbul, Turkey — responsible for AP, bank reconciliations, month‑end close and audit support.
Role & Responsibilities
- Accurately record vendor invoices and process accounts payable transactions in the accounting system.
- Record daily bank transactions and assist with bank reconciliations to ensure cash accuracy.
- Perform regular supplier account reconciliations and resolve invoice or account discrepancies.
- Support month‑end closing activities to ensure timely completion of deliverables and reporting.
- Prepare and compile documentation required for external audits and maintain audit-ready files.
- Gather and compile data for monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings and regulatory submissions.
- Maintain organised documentation supporting internal controls and audit trails.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure efficient financial workflows and follow up on assigned tasks.
- Provide routine support to the Accounting Manager, including preparation of simple reports and completion of delegated assignments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in accounting operations, preferably within a corporate or retail environment.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable using ERP systems.
- Good command of English for daily communication.
- High attention to detail and a strong degree of numerical accuracy.
- Analytical mindset with effective problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise, follow through and manage competing deadlines.
- Proactive, reliable and ownership‑driven attitude with eagerness to learn and grow within the finance team.
