Hennessy Packaging Development Intern (m/f) in Cognac, France. Join a luxury spirits leader as a packaging innovation specialist and develop expertise in sustainable materials and design.
Role & Responsibilities
- Participate in technical meetings and collaborate with project teams to understand objectives and drive innovation in packaging solutions
- Develop and implement improvements to existing packaging, considering material performance, environmental impact, functionality, and aesthetic appeal
- Conduct quality control verification at each stage of the packaging development and production process
- Lead supplier visits to evaluate emerging technologies and best practices in packaging solutions
- Manage packaging specification documentation, including definition, verification, and technical recording
- Design and formalize pallet configuration plans and logistics specifications
- Support product line extensions by overseeing trials, documenting test requests, tracking results, and preparing comprehensive test reports
- Supervise production launches, validate supplier Proof of Press documents, and participate in internal manufacturing setup
- Monitor subcontracting operations including decoration and label application for product variants
- Support prototype development, conducting reception inspections and technical controls on principle and functional mockups
- Participate in technical solution selection and prepare technical documentation including specifications and analytical reports
- Manage project timelines, budget tracking for tools, and cost sheet accuracy
- Provide regular progress updates to the project manager and flag decisions requiring escalation
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an engineering school or university program (Bac +3/5 level or equivalent)
- Specialization in packaging, design, or related discipline
- Demonstrated interest in packaging innovation, environmental sustainability, and material technologies
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proactive problem-solving capability and ability to propose solutions
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Capable of managing projects with increasing autonomy

Experience
Entry-level or student status; no prior professional experience required. Candidates should demonstrate strong academic foundation in packaging, materials science, engineering design, or related discipline.
Education
Bachelor's degree (Bac +3) or pursuing Master's degree (Bac +5) in engineering, packaging, design, materials science, or equivalent discipline.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Cognac, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France.
