Hennessy in Cognac seeks a Collections Management Intern (heritage & archives) for on-site archival indexing, digitization and iconographic research.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Index and catalog historical and contemporary images into the media/asset management system
  • Support sorting and organization of digital archives and assist in digital curation tasks
  • Handle and assist in the processing, assessment and conservation-aware manipulation of historical archival fonds
  • Conduct iconographic research to support exhibitions, publications and internal requests
  • Carry out assorted administrative and curatorial tasks related to the management of the patrimonial collection (documents, objects, images)

Qualifications

  • Ongoing or completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in cultural heritage, archival studies, library and information science, documentation, iconography or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of late 19th and 20th century history
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with document management or media asset management systems
  • Strong attention to detail, rigorous working methods and the ability to synthesise archival information
  • Excellent written expression and spelling; good written command of English

Experience

Entry-level internship suitable for students or recent graduates; no prior professional archival experience required beyond relevant academic training and coursework.
