HGV Driver at Harrods, Thatcham – FTC role delivering luxury goods for iconic department store.
Role & Responsibilities
- Operate an 18-tonne Class 2 HGV safely and efficiently to transport Harrods merchandise between distribution sites and partner locations
- Execute 2 trips per day across designated routes, managing time effectively while adhering to drivers' hours regulations and EU Working Time Directive
- Load, unload, and secure goods independently, including handling pallets, rails, and wheeled cages with precision
- Maintain accurate tachograph records and complete all required paperwork with meticulous attention to detail
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections, report defects promptly, and maintain the vehicle to reflect Harrods brand standards
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, ensuring all goods are signed for and handled with care
- Represent Harrods professionally on every journey, maintaining a clean and presentable uniform and vehicle at all times
- Demonstrate flexibility by working 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday per month, plus additional shifts during peak operational periods
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, health and safety procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Valid UK driving licence, Category C or C+E
- Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
- Valid digital tachograph card
- Aged 21 or over for insurance purposes
- Minimum 2 years' HGV driving experience (preferred)
- Clean driving record
- Familiarity with SAP or willingness to learn

Minimum 2 years' HGV driving experience is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate confidence and professionalism in independent vehicle operation, a strong track record of safe driving, and the ability to work autonomously whilst remaining an integral part of a logistics team.
Education
No formal educational qualifications specified; however, candidates must hold all mandatory professional certifications (Driver CPC, valid tachograph card, and appropriate driving licence category).
