Guerlain — Product Manager (Makeup & Fragrance) in Chiyoda, Tokyo. Lead product strategy, 360° launches and cross‑functional execution for the Japan market.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define and implement annual category strategies for makeup and fragrance to achieve sell-out and business KPIs, including audience targeting and monthly marketing planning.
- Lead 360° launch strategies for HERO and new products, ensuring alignment with global brand positioning and local commercial objectives.
- Plan and execute national promotions and activations to elevate catalogue products and support sustained sell-through.
- Manage end-to-end product lifecycle for makeup collections and fragrance SKUs, coordinating with HQ, R&D, Demand & Supply Planning, and Regulatory/QA (RAQA).
- Provide strategic forecasting inputs to Demand Planning and partner with Supply Planning to secure product availability, testers and samples for retail execution.
- Own sales and expense budgets related to product initiatives and report performance against targets.
- Perform daily sales, CRM and activation analysis using Excel, BI dashboards and reporting tools to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Monitor competitor launches, media exposure and market trends to inform differentiated messaging and product positioning.
- Develop brand-aligned copy and emotional product claims leveraging cultural and artistic references to maximise consumer resonance.
Qualifications
- University graduate (bachelor's degree or equivalent).
- Minimum 8 years' experience in product management within beauty, cosmetics or luxury FMCG; strong candidates with 3+ years may be considered.
- Fluency in Japanese and professional working proficiency in English.
- Demonstrated capability in defining KPIs, creating 360° launch plans and managing cross‑functional product lifecycles.
- Strong numerical aptitude and experience with demand/logistics operations and budget management.

Preferably 8+ years in product management within cosmetics, perfumery or adjacent luxury categories, with proven experience leading national launches, cross-functional stakeholder management (HQ, supply, R&D, digital, retail) and delivering measurable commercial outcomes. Candidates with 3+ years and exceptional qualifications may be considered.
