Guerlain seeks a Maintenance Technician in Chartres, France for its cosmetics production site — permanent full-time role on rotating shifts.
Role & Responsibilities
- Ensure availability and reliability of packaging and production equipment to meet site objectives.
- Diagnose and correct equipment failures: perform corrective maintenance, component replacement, adjustments and repairs while documenting findings.
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance activities and keep preventive maintenance instructions up to date in coordination with Methods/Industrialisation teams.
- Analyse equipment performance indicators for assigned machines, prioritize actions and implement sustainable improvement measures; lead continuous-improvement projects in safety, quality and productivity.
- Produce and maintain technical intervention reports and machine maintenance dossiers.
- Audit machine parameters within the scope (outside live production settings) and support machine start-ups and qualification of new equipment.
- Support product introductions on line with Industrialisation to secure target performance from series start-up and contribute process improvements post-launch.
- Train and coach line operators and machinists on autonomous maintenance, basic troubleshooting and use of diagnostic tools; coordinate external suppliers when required.
Qualifications
- Solid technical knowledge in mechanics, fluid mechanics, pneumatics and industrial electricity.
- Familiarity with industrial vision systems and industrial robotics; automation/PLC knowledge is a strong advantage.
- Regular use of CAD tools (CAO/DAO) and experience with CMMS (GMAO) will be highly valued.
- Degree in industrial maintenance or electrotechnics (BTS MS / BTS Électrotechnique / DUT GIM or equivalent).
- Proven ability to produce clear technical reports and update technical documentation.
- Strong autonomy, analytical mindset, rigour, adaptability and effective communication skills; able to work collaboratively with production and suppliers.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts (2x8) and occasionally nights according to production needs.
Skills
Experience
Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience on industrial production sites; experience in cosmetics, food, pharmaceutical or automotive sectors preferred. Prior involvement in continuous-improvement or reliability projects is an asset.
Education
BTS MS (formerly BTS MI), BTS Électrotechnique, DUT GIM or equivalent technical diploma in maintenance/electromechanics.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Chartres, Centre-Val de Loire, France, with easy access to Paris.
