Guerlain Japan hiring Fragrance Trainer in Tokyo. Develop training programs for Beauty Ambassadors; hybrid role reporting to Training Senior Manager.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement targeted training programs aligned with Guerlain Academy guidelines and annual marketing calendars, covering client interactions, retailing methodologies, counter operations, and product knowledge
  • Design and produce engaging training materials including presentations, manuals, interactive online modules, and exercises addressing fragrance families, application techniques, sales strategies, and brand storytelling
  • Conduct interactive training sessions using diverse methodologies: in-person workshops, online webinars, on-the-job coaching, and specialized Master Classes for expert-level Beauty Ambassadors
  • Assess training needs regularly and tailor programs to address specific skill gaps; maintain expertise in industry trends, new product launches, and competitive positioning
  • Execute strategic counter visits to provide on-the-job coaching, mentor counter managers on operations, and guide sales technique refinement in collaboration with the retail team
  • Support the Expert program through assessment participation and evaluation of educational initiatives
  • Provide comprehensive support for events and animations, including coaching on product knowledge and customer interactions, developing quick-reference guides and selling scripts
  • Coordinate onboarding programs for new hires, delivering foundational knowledge and skill development across teams
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Digital, and Sales teams to align training delivery with brand strategy and product launches; ensure consistent messaging across retail partners
  • Manage fragrance training program budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effectiveness and accountability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • 3+ years of proven experience in training and development, preferably within the fragrance or cosmetics industry
  • Demonstrated expertise in customer service and retail training environments
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the cosmetics and fragrance industry
  • Excellent presentation, instructional design, and communication abilities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent programs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital collaboration tools
  • Japanese language proficiency at business-native level (JLPT 1 equivalent)
  • English language proficiency at intermediate business level (TOEIC 650 or TOEFL iBT 71 equivalent)

Experience
