Guerlain, a prestigious perfumes and cosmetics house and subsidiary of LVMH, seeks a Facilities & Building Systems Technician on a permanent contract for its 400-person cosmetics production site in Chartres. The role is responsible for ensuring the technical and aesthetic condition of buildings and optimal operation of utility systems, enabling site safety and production performance through technical supervision, equipment maintenance, and regulatory compliance.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular technical surveillance rounds of building systems and infrastructure
  • Operate and manage boilers (heating and steam), compressors, water production systems, electrical distribution, sprinkler systems, wastewater treatment plants, and air handling units
  • Perform level 1 and 2 preventive and corrective maintenance on air handling units, water networks, and automated doors
  • Manage inventory and stock monitoring for water softener and de-icing salt supplies
  • Process and coordinate maintenance requests from operational departments related to building and furniture repairs
  • Execute repairs and restoration work on-site including electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and painting tasks
  • Oversee and quality-control all subcontractor technical interventions
  • Maintain social facilities and external grounds in proper condition
  • Support general services team in preparing spaces for corporate events and receptions
  • Supervise on-site technical service providers and contractors
  • Enforce strict safety protocols including hot work permits, prevention plans, and related procedures
  • Verify proper functioning of fire protection systems and perform weekly testing routines
  • Manage road salting and snow removal during winter conditions
  • Adhere rigorously to procedures, hygiene protocols, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Record and track all maintenance interventions in the GMAO maintenance management system and logbooks

Qualifications

  • Baccalauréat Professionnel (or equivalent) in building maintenance or related technical field
  • Technical competency in mechanical systems, electrical work, carpentry, and plumbing
  • Knowledge of building automation and utility management systems
  • Understanding of GMP and pharmaceutical/cosmetics manufacturing compliance requirements
  • Valid driver's license for site mobility and material transport
