Director, Visual Merchandising & Store Design at Guerlain (LVMH) in New York — lead U.S. retail brand presentation strategy.
Role & Responsibilities
- Elevate and enhance the Guerlain brand image through enhanced merchandising elements and tools, including event animation, counter animation, and launch elements
- Analyze current event elements and tools, and propose innovative solutions tailored to the U.S. market
- Design, develop, and customize visual merchandising strategies and create visual retail opportunities that support marketing and sales efforts at each retail location
- Create and maintain a comprehensive visual merchandising database with information on each department store door and key retail account
- Partner with Paris headquarters Visual Merchandising team to ensure global soft merchandising development meets U.S. market requirements
- Train Guerlain sales field teams on design concepts, visual display standards, and maintenance of visual merchandising installations
- Provide on-the-job training to store team members in key flagship doors to support visual merchandising efforts
- Maintain and cultivate relationships with retail partners and create databases of key contacts per retailer
- Partner with marketing and gondola vendors for the design and implementation of seasonal Sephora updates
- Coordinate all store design project management aspects with Paris headquarters, including counter and freestanding store development
- Review all design and construction documents pertaining to each project
- Partner with VP Sales to obtain retailer approval for new and remodeled counters
- Establish project timetables and drive all parties to complete phases on schedule
- Coordinate bid processes with the Purchasing Department
- Review shop drawings with Paris headquarters store design team
- Provide on-site construction supervision
- Work with internal teams to provide proper merchandising elements for installations
- Coordinate all punch lists post-installation
Qualifications
- Architecture, industrial design, or interior design degree required
- Minimum 10 years of visual merchandising and store design experience in luxury, cosmetics, or related industries
- Strong analytical skills with proven ability to assess current retail environments and propose data-driven solutions
- Excellent oral and written presentation skills
- Strategic leadership capabilities with demonstrated ability to align global brand directives with regional market needs
- Exceptional project management skills with ability to handle multiple concurrent initiatives
- Highly organized and detail-oriented approach to work execution
- Hands-on professional mindset with willingness to engage in all phases of project execution

Experience
Minimum 10 years of visual merchandising and store design experience in a similar or related industry, with demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale retail projects and leading cross-functional teams in a luxury or premium consumer goods environment.
Education
Architecture, industrial design, or interior design degree required.
