Guerlain seeks a Director of Private Client and Corporate Business to lead US corporate sales, private-client development and strategic partnerships, while establishing a new business unit and driving sales and P&L objectives. The role is permanent, full-time and hybrid, based in New York.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and lead Corporate Sales in the US, from prospect identification and outreach through tailored proposals and final delivery.
- Build a new business network across B2B, weddings, events and other high-value occasions.
- Identify revenue streams, establish long-term relationships with key partners and clients, and build a sustainable Corporate & Events business in the US.
- Set tools, objectives, KPIs and targets for the new business unit, establishing a framework for its successful development and scaling.
- Define the commercial offer, pricing strategy, legal terms and financial conditions using HQ resources, ensuring compliance with Guerlain’s rules, standards and ethical principles.
- Establish a sustainable commercial model balancing growth, profitability, brand equity and long-term value creation.
- Develop strategic partnerships and synergies that elevate the Maison.
- Serve as key contact for co-events and partnership initiatives, leveraging synergies with spas, hotel partners, LVMH brands and other strategic partners in line with Guerlain’s image and positioning.
- Guide and develop partnership strategies through execution, engaging potential stakeholders.
- Support Corporate Sales and private-client initiatives by leveraging private and corporate relationships.
- Report directly to the GM and work closely with US and HQ teams, including Retail, Training, Digital & Omnichannel, Finance, Press Relations and Marketing, as well as Guerlain international teams and the HQ New Business & Private Client Director and team.
- Build global connections with counterparts and develop a network with VIC teams across LVMH and external Maisons to create synergies, share best practices and develop a corporate network.
- Develop and nurture a high-value private-client portfolio by identifying recruitment opportunities and leveraging existing and new networks.
- Partner with Marketing to design and activate exclusive, high-profile brand experiences and events that strengthen desirability, deepen client relationships and generate incremental sales.
- Partner with the HQ Private Client team to identify local opportunities and use HQ tools and assets—including virtual bridges, product and experience offers, and client tools—to elevate client experiences.
- Follow global client guidelines to ensure consistent treatment of top clients worldwide.
- Collaborate with local sales and retail teams and the HQ Private team to develop a PEX and bespoke-fragrance action plan covering client identification, events and experiences, training, sales and follow-up.
- Define and execute short-, medium- and long-term strategies to deliver sales and P&L objectives.
- Lead Private Sales in the US, fostering commitment and accountability and optimizing sales activities to maximize profitability, market share, turnover and sales volume.
- Ensure alignment and collaboration with internal stakeholders to drive sustainable business performance.
Qualifications
- More than 10–15 years of experience in customer marketing within the luxury sector, including retail, hospitality or concierge services.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to explore new areas, define their scope, bring stakeholders together and build organizational visibility and traction for initiatives.
- Recognized expertise in high-end clientele, with a proven ability to develop effective action plans and transform sales.
- Personal network of (U)HNWIs and strong social and networking skills rooted in the local community.
- Ability to operate effectively in a demanding environment.
- Natural leadership, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Team spirit, agility, responsiveness and a solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to prioritize and manage complexity with a high degree of autonomy.
- Fluent or bilingual English.
- Full proficiency in Microsoft Office.
