Guerlain seeks an experienced Counter Manager to lead the Guerlain counter at De Bijenkorf Rotterdam. The successful candidate will direct all aspects of counter operations, including team leadership, sales performance, client experience, and brand representation. This role demands expertise in luxury beauty retail, proven commercial acumen, and the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team in a fast-paced department store environment.

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and motivate the counter team daily, fostering strong team spirit and alignment with Guerlain and De Bijenkorf standards
• Act as a role model in sales excellence, service delivery, grooming standards, and brand representation
• Drive and achieve sales targets across all periods (daily, weekly, monthly, annual) and monitor KPIs and market share
• Identify business growth opportunities and implement action plans to increase counter performance
• Conduct regular coaching sessions and performance evaluations; set and monitor individual and team objectives
• Oversee all administrative functions including staff planning, stock management, ordering, and accurate reporting
• Ensure successful execution of product launches, animations, and in-store promotional events
• Deliver exceptional customer service and strengthen client loyalty through personalized, relationship-based engagement
• Maintain optimal stock levels, efficient sell-through, and full compliance with merchandising and brand guidelines
• Act as the key liaison between Head Office and counter team; build strong relationships with De Bijenkorf floor and store management

Qualifications

• Professional make-up artistry and/or beautician certification
• Minimum 3 years of retail management or luxury beauty counter experience
• Fluent in Dutch (mandatory)
• Good command of English
• Strong commercial and sales mindset with proven ability to lead and develop teams

Skills

Experience

Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience in retail management, beauty counter operations, or luxury goods sales within a department store or comparable luxury retail environment.

Education

Professional make-up artistry certification and/or beautician qualification required.
