Guerlain seeks an experienced Counter Manager to lead operations and drive performance at the company's Amsterdam counter within de Bijenkorf. This role combines strategic business management with hands-on team leadership, requiring the successful candidate to champion Guerlain's luxury brand values whilst achieving aggressive sales targets and delivering exceptional client experiences. The Counter Manager will oversee a team of Beauty Consultants, manage counter operations and merchandising compliance, and serve as the primary liaison between Head Office and retail floor.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and motivate the counter team daily, fostering strong team spirit and role-modeling sales excellence and brand representation
- Set and monitor individual and team objectives through regular coaching sessions and performance evaluations
- Drive sales targets (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) and implement corrective action plans to achieve revenue and market share growth
- Monitor key performance indicators, sell-out metrics, and counter KPIs to identify business opportunities
- Ensure successful execution of product launches, in-store animations, and promotional events
- Deliver and promote the highest level of customer service, creating a welcoming and personalized luxury client experience
- Strengthen client loyalty through relationship building and adherence to Guerlain service standards
- Oversee administrative operations including staff planning, stock management, ordering, and timely reporting of sales and KPIs
- Maintain optimal stock levels and efficient sell-through whilst ensuring full compliance with merchandising and brand image guidelines
- Act as primary liaison between Head Office and counter team, maintaining clear communication with Guerlain Management
Qualifications
- Professional make-up artistry and/or beautician certification
- Minimum 3 years of relevant retail management or team leadership experience
- Proven commercial and sales mindset with demonstrated ability to meet or exceed targets
- Fluent in Dutch (mandatory)
- Strong English language proficiency
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Minimum 3 years of professional experience in retail management, beauty counter management, or luxury goods sales leadership, with proven success in building and managing high-performance teams.
Education
Professional make-up artistry certification and/or beautician certification required.
