Guerlain seeks an experienced Counter Manager in Amsterdam to lead team, drive sales, and deliver luxury beauty service at de Bijenkorf.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and motivate the counter team daily, fostering strong team cohesion and collective achievement
  • Act as a brand ambassador and role model in sales execution, service excellence, professional grooming, and Guerlain brand representation
  • Establish, communicate, and monitor individual and team sales objectives aligned with counter performance targets
  • Conduct regular performance coaching sessions and evaluations, identifying development opportunities for team members
  • Drive achievement of sales targets across daily, weekly, monthly, and annual timeframes
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics including sell-out data, KPIs, and market share; implement corrective action plans as needed
  • Identify and execute business growth initiatives to elevate counter performance and revenue
  • Oversee successful execution of product launches, promotional animations, and in-store brand events
  • Serve as primary liaison between Guerlain Head Office and the counter team, ensuring clear communication of strategic directives
  • Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with store management and floor teams
  • Deliver and champion the highest standards of customer service; strengthen client loyalty through personalized engagement
  • Lead by example on the shop floor, creating an inviting and authentically luxurious client experience
  • Ensure consistent application of Guerlain service standards across all client interactions
  • Manage administrative functions including staff scheduling, inventory control, and product ordering
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sales data, KPIs, and other performance metrics through internal systems
  • Maintain optimal stock levels and efficient sell-through performance
  • Guarantee full compliance with Guerlain merchandising guidelines and luxury brand image standards
  • Ensure the counter consistently reflects Guerlain's premium positioning and quality expectations

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in luxury retail, cosmetics, or beauty counter management
  • Professional make-up artistry certification and/or beautician qualification
  • Proven track record of leading and developing retail teams to achieve sales and service objectives
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and strong sales-driven mindset
  • Fluent in Dutch (mandatory)
  • Proficient in English
  • Passion for luxury retail and the beauty sector

Experience
