Guerlain — Business Development Manager (Dubai, hybrid). Lead market expansion across India & Africa and manage P&L, partner relationships and distribution strategy.
Role & Responsibilities
- Own commercial performance for assigned markets (India, key African markets and emerging territories): sell-out, net sales, P&L and financial deliverables in close coordination with the Business Development Director and regional commercial teams.
- Pilot and manage relationships with local partners (agents) and direct retail accounts; lead negotiations on store locations, space allocation, trade terms, pricing and A&P.
- Lead market-entry and incorporation projects: perform market analysis, identify white-space opportunities, size potential and recommend distribution models.
- Design, implement and follow up A&P plans and business models; coordinate distribution model transformations across markets.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities and cross-market synergies in partnership with Brand, Commercial, Marketing and Finance teams.
- Lead cross-functional teams to conceptualize, pilot and roll out new commercial initiatives and business models.
- Provide indirect oversight and enablement for Brand Managers, Sales Supervisors and a Sales Coordinator to ensure consistent brand execution and strong commercial delivery.
- Diagnose operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements to streamline operations, reduce costs and raise productivity.
- Produce ad hoc and confidential market studies to inform regional and global decision-making.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' proven experience in business development, commercial management or business analysis; 5–8+ years preferred for senior scope.
- Demonstrable track record growing sales in India and/or African markets and managing distributor or wholesale relationships.
- Professional experience in luxury, beauty, FMCG or retail environments highly preferred.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with hands-on P&L responsibility and experience building business cases.
- Excellent negotiation skills and experience contracting with agents and retail partners.
- Proven cross-functional stakeholder management and ability to run complex projects across multiple departments.
- Fluent English required; French and additional languages highly desirable.

Experience
Minimum five years of progressive responsibility in business development, commercial or business analysis roles, with demonstrated success expanding business in India and/or African markets. Preferable background in luxury, beauty, FMCG or retail channels and experience managing distributors or wholesale partners.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce, Economics or related discipline; master's degree or MBA preferred but not required.
