Guerlain — Area Sales Manager based in Orléans or Tours, France. Field role driving sell‑in/sell‑out, distributor relations and in‑store activations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Drive sell‑in and sell‑out growth within the assigned territory and achieve monthly and annual sales targets set by France Sales Management.
- Negotiate commercial terms (promotions, RFA, market agreements) with billed accounts in accordance with the delegated mandate.
- Prepare and submit monthly billing forecasts for billed clients by the 3rd of each month, and manage performance vs. annual commitments.
- Plan and execute in‑store selling days and local activations in coordination with the Regional Director and head office teams (trade marketing, merchandising).
- Coordinate and follow up store animations and franchise activities with retail teams and commercial references to ensure flawless execution.
- Design and deploy local business actions (self‑managed activations, challenges) and ensure their operational effectiveness.
- Build and maintain strong commercial relationships with stores and distributor partners to animate the Maison within point‑of‑sale networks.
- Conduct business reviews with store leadership during each visit and analyse point‑of‑sale performance (sell‑in, sell‑out, market share, ranking, stock, average basket).
- Present new product launches to billed clients, negotiate launch stock levels and ensure sufficient availability of core items and novelties.
- Train retail teams on product launches, best‑sellers and Guerlain brand DNA to secure consistent customer experience.
- Ensure merchandising compliance: implement planograms, control visual merchandising and uphold the Maison’s in‑store standards (Zero‑defect policy).
- Represent and embody Guerlain’s brand image and heritage in all commercial interactions.
Qualifications
- First successful professional experience in a similar field sales or retail account role within specialist or selective distribution.
- Demonstrated commercial orientation with a proven ability to deliver sales targets and grow accounts.
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills; able to build long‑term relationships with store partners.
- Strong verbal communication, synthesising and reporting skills; capacity to run business reviews and present performance insights.
- Highly organised, able to plan priorities across a multi‑department territory and manage travel.
- Autonomous, proactive and solutions‑oriented with a strong sense of listening and adaptability.
- Driver’s license (permis B) and full mobility across the assigned departments; availability for selling days on Fridays and Saturdays.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Experience
Entry‑level to junior: a first successful professional experience in field sales, distributor account management or specialised retail is required; familiarity with cosmetics or luxury retail is strongly advantageous. The role requires regular travel across the assigned departments and weekend selling days.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing or equivalent preferred, though proven commercial experience in selective retail may compensate.
