Guerlain seeks an Area Sales Manager based in Orléans, France to drive sell‑in/out and manage retail accounts across the Centre region.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Drive sell‑in and sell‑out performance across the assigned territory to meet revenue and market share targets set by France management.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with billed clients in line with the mandate (pricing, promotional funding, market agreements) and establish monthly billing forecasts for billed accounts.
  • Plan and execute in‑store activations, sales days and retailer initiatives in coordination with Regional Direction and headquarters teams (trade marketing, merchandising).
  • Conduct business reviews during each store visit, analyse point‑of‑sale and brand KPIs (sell‑in, sell‑out, market share, ranking, stock, basket average) and implement corrective actions.
  • Present new product launches to accounts, secure appropriate launch stock, ensure availability of hero SKUs and deliver training to store teams on product knowledge and brand DNA.
  • Ensure merchandising standards and planogram compliance at points of sale to preserve the Guerlain client experience (Zero Defect policy).
  • Build and maintain strong commercial relationships with store management to activate the Maison within distributors and negotiate store‑level initiatives and challenges.

Qualifications

  • First proven professional experience in a similar role within specialist retail or selective distribution.
  • Results‑oriented with strong client focus and negotiation capability.
  • Excellent oral communication, synthesis and interpersonal skills; able to influence and train retail teams.
  • Highly organised, able to plan priorities and work autonomously; proactive and solution‑oriented.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word for reporting and forecasting.
  • Valid driving licence (Permis B) and willingness to travel across the assigned departments; available for sales days on Fridays and Saturdays.

Experience

At least one successful initial professional experience in specialised retail distribution or a comparable field sales position, demonstrating commercial results and account management capability.

Education
