Gucci WRTW Retail Senior Merchandiser in Milan, Italy—lead buying operations, inventory management, and merchandising strategy for luxury fashion retail.
Role & Responsibilities
- Elaborate and consolidate business trends data from regional teams and sales channels
- Structure and facilitate information exchange between regional teams regarding product needs and competitive offerings through regular market monitoring
- Conduct buying preparation analysis focused on efficiency metrics, average pricing, SKU targets by function, and store hierarchy
- Coordinate with Collection Merchandising to develop seasonal key messages and core product selections
- Manage master order activities and key assortments across regions and channels to ensure balanced global product mix with proper segmentation by complexity, pricing, delivery, and advertising
- Define and distribute Master Order quantities by region and channel
- Establish OTB (Open-to-Buy) alongside Planning teams and distribute by channel plan
- Oversee the regional buying process to ensure preparedness for final review cycles
- Align post-buying initiatives with Collection Merchandising to optimize investment sharing and overall buying structure with the Visual Merchandising team
- Define central bulk orders
- Optimize inventory management across regions, channels, and flagship locations to maximize sales and stock efficiency
- Manage weekly allocation distributions from central bulk inventory to regional teams
- Monitor monthly supply levels and identify slow-moving inventory
- Analyze selling trends and communicate recommended actions to regional teams and channels regarding reorders and cancellations
- Execute daily data analysis
- Maximize sales and business results by collaborating with regional buyers to identify market opportunities and understand regional dynamics
- Coordinate with Global Merchandising on product feedback and market requirements
- Generate strategic inputs on Visual Merchandising and merchandise relocation for Collection Merchandising and Merchandising Manager
- Serve as the primary reference point for assigned categories and markets to regional merchandising teams
- Ensure effective translation and communication of headquarters strategic messages to regional structures
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a merchandiser in fashion or luxury goods industry
- Business management or equivalent educational background
- Fluency in English
- Advanced product sensitivity and demonstrated passion for the Women's Ready-to-Wear category
- Strong analytical and numerical capability
- Commercial awareness and sound business acumen
- Excellent communicative skills with ability to liaise across departments with differing communication needs
- Flexible mindset and highly adaptive personality
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication capabilities
- Ambition to exceed corporate goals and deliver exceptional performance

Experience
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a merchandiser in the fashion or luxury goods sector, with demonstrated expertise in retail merchandising, buying analysis, inventory optimization, and cross-functional collaboration with regional and global teams.
Education
Educational background preferably in business management or a related discipline.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position is EUR 45,000 per annum.
