Role & Responsibilities
- Lead creative ideation and design for Women’s Leather Goods collections, ensuring alignment with brand strategy, seasonal concepts and market trends.
- Develop moodboards, high‑quality sketches, technical drawings and visual presentations to communicate design intent clearly.
- Select and specify materials, finishes, colors and hardware (leathers, fabrics, metal fittings, closures, stitching) to achieve the desired aesthetic and performance.
- Translate designs into detailed technical documentation and specifications for Product Development and Pattern Makers.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Leather Goods (LG) Teams, Product Development, Merchandising and Production to ensure feasibility, quality and commercial relevance.
- Oversee prototyping, fittings and sample validation, providing decisive design direction and ensuring coherence with original creative intent.
- Monitor fashion trends, competitive benchmarks and cultural signals to inform design direction and identify new category opportunities.
- Contribute to internal presentations, runway shows and sales collateral as required; participate in fittings and show preparation when needed.
Qualifications
- Proven track record designing women’s leather goods for luxury or high‑end fashion brands.
- Advanced sketching and technical drawing skills with the ability to produce clear, construction‑ready documentation.
- Deep knowledge of materials and hardware specific to leather goods (leather types, finishes, metal fittings, closures and stitching techniques).
- Demonstrated ability to manage the end‑to‑end design process from concept to validated prototype.
- Strong collaborative skills and experience working closely with Product Development, Pattern Makers and Production teams.
- Excellent visual sensibility, attention to proportion and detailing, and strong presentation skills.

Experience
Senior‑level experience designing women’s leather goods within luxury fashion houses, typically 5+ years with a proven record of leading collections, driving product development and validating prototypes through to production.
Education
Degree or equivalent in Fashion Design, Product/Industrial Design, Accessories Design or a related discipline; substantial industry experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Milan, Lombardy, Italy.
