Gucci hiring Tailor for Ready To Wear Samples in Milan. Support collection development from prototype to production.
Role & Responsibilities
- Execute construction of initial prototypes according to design specifications and pattern requirements
- Assess and recommend tailoring interventions to improve garment fit and construction quality, collaborating with pattern makers and technical team members
- Revise garments based on technical feedback and defect corrections from supervisory review
- Construct final collection samples meeting Gucci's premium quality standards
- Execute pre-production industrialized versions of garments in preparation for manufacturing scale-up
Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in apparel technology or tailoring
- Expert knowledge of complete garment production cycles and all phases of manufacturing
- Advanced proficiency with industrial sewing machinery including cutting machines, straight-stitch machines, and related equipment
- Strong understanding of fabrics, textiles, and yarn properties
- Demonstrated expertise in garment pressing and finishing techniques
- Precision and speed in pattern interpretation and marker analysis
- Fluent Italian; secondary language proficiency preferred
Skills
Experience
Significant professional experience in garment production, sample creation, or haute couture atelier environments, with demonstrated mastery of the full product development cycle from prototyping through pre-production.
Education
Diploma in apparel technology, garment construction, or tailoring from a recognized vocational or technical institution.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Milan, Lombardy, Italy.
