Gucci is hiring a Store Operations Manager in Washington, DC. Lead luxury retail operations, oversee inventory and compliance, and manage high-performing teams. $70,000–$80,000 USD.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Systematically drive, improve, and maintain operational excellence and efficiency across all aspects of the store whilst monitoring quantitative and qualitative KPI dashboards to inform action plans
  • Ensure meticulous organization of back-of-house areas, proximity areas, stock rooms, cash counters, maintenance, and tailoring rooms
  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize losses and shrinkage, ensure accurate merchandise tracking, and oversee store cycle counts and stock reconciliation
  • Monitor and ensure correct management of all payment flows and tenders including cash, store credits, deposits, special orders, discounts, and other sensitive transactions; conduct daily till reconciliation and report discrepancies to Finance, Accounting, and Store Management teams
  • Ensure proper follow-up and monitoring of all omnichannel activities including collect-in-store, pay-by-link transactions, iPad in-store sales, and book-an-appointment service
  • Serve as the cross-functional point of reference with Retail, Security, Facility, Inventory Control, Kering Services, Digital, and Merchandising teams to execute all operational and service standards
  • Ensure all operations tools are functioning properly at all times and used effectively, guaranteed by a strong presence on the sales floor
  • Oversee and lead the product care team to guarantee efficiency in all after-sale and before-sale activities
  • Guarantee adherence to company guidelines and local regulations on processing payments, returns, exchanges, refunds, and all sensitive transactions whilst ensuring a seamless client experience and minimizing checkout wait times
  • Follow all security procedures to prevent theft, fraud, and stock losses
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, regulations, including health and safety standards and legal requirements
  • Assist with floor coverage, process of client purchases, and opening and closing of the store
  • Supervise and administer general maintenance of the store and ensure all IT equipment is functioning properly
  • Plan the communication and implementation of new retail operations policies or processes; train new hires and existing staff on all store operational procedures and tools
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the store team to achieve operational excellence
  • Assist in the training of new Operations Managers in other locations and support teams in store openings, closures, refurbishments, and temporary stores within the market or region
  • Support the Store Director on managing and controlling costs and efficiency
  • Manage the uniform order process for store team members from order entry and allocation to distribution
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities; propose and implement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and drive business growth
  • Serve as a leader to the Store's Operations and Back Office teams and create a positive and united work environment
  • Set and foster constant effective communication between FOH and BOH managers and team members to boost collaboration
  • Coach and develop direct reports in areas of operations, customer service, and sales support
  • Actively lead annual Performance and Development Conversations with direct reports ensuring quality and career-focused discussions
  • Conduct regular monthly one-to-ones with team members related to performance, discuss results and opportunities, and develop action plans
  • Ensure effective, holistic, and timely onboarding for new joiners of the team
  • Manage and resolve employee-relations matters in partnership with Store Managers and People Partners
  • Partner with the Store Director to attract, recruit, and retain a high-performing operations team and build a talent pipeline through networking and competitive headhunting

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of retail operations management experience, preferably in fast fashion or luxury retail
  • Proven track record of success in managing inventory, logistics, and store operations
  • Ability to analyze information, identify business priorities, problem solve, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • High degree of ethics, professionalism, integrity, and ability to inspire trust and influence a team
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels in an international environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals
  • Knowledge of retail best practices, market trends, and customer behavior
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed
  • Proficiency in inventory management software, SAP, and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel); knowledge of RFID systems is a plus

Experience

Education

Bachelor's Degree is a plus.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to USD 80,000 per annum.
