The Store Director leads Gucci’s Toronto Premium Outlets store, overseeing sales, client development, talent, operations, loss prevention and visual merchandising. This is a 14-month contract, with an anticipated start date of December 1, 2026; the base salary range is CAD 110,000–125,000 annually, with possible commissions and incentive programs for eligible employees.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead store activities to achieve business objectives while upholding a high standard of service, operational integrity, loss-prevention compliance, people management and visual presentation.
  • Drive sales to meet budget objectives, monitor monthly profitability and analyze store performance, market trends and competitor activity.
  • Lead from the sales floor, engage top clients, deliver exceptional service and meet annual mystery-shop goals.
  • Manage stock levels with business partners to maximize full-price sales, sell-through and alignment with new product launches.
  • Train associates on current collections, brand pillars and seasonal strategy, partnering with internal departments for product support.
  • Communicate company KPIs and implement strategies to meet performance standards.
  • Develop business action plans with the Market Director to grow sales across product categories and client tiers.
  • Build relationships through networking, propose local events and support product launches that drive client attendance and sales.
  • Track competitors, fashion trends, industry news and technology innovations.
  • Conduct monthly coaching sessions, provide timely feedback, oversee employee performance reviews and establish goals.
  • Create action and development plans for employees.
  • Attract, recruit and retain a high-performing team, building a talent pipeline through networking and competitive shopping.
  • Ensure a consistent, branded onboarding experience for new hires.
  • Allocate staffing and schedules to drive sales and provide elevated customer service.
  • Partner with the Market Director and Human Resources People Partner to resolve employee relations matters.
  • Use a top-client strategy to meet business objectives and retain and develop high-potential clients.
  • Build brand awareness, establish market and store presence, and increase market share through community outreach and company-sponsored events.
  • Lead the team in delivering excellent customer service and after-sales experiences to build and retain loyalty.
  • Implement company CRM initiatives through team action plans and monitor monthly CRM reports to capture meaningful customer data for personalized client development.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Human Resources and Loss Prevention, and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor expenses, manage the store operating budget and seek to reduce costs.
  • Submit accounts-payable invoices and cash-disbursement policies on time.
  • Complete quarterly Loss Prevention self-audits, monthly cycle counts, incident reports and monthly inventory reconciliations to keep annual inventory shrinkage below the company target.
  • Oversee daily incoming and outgoing merchandise requests and shipments.
  • Prepare accurate monthly schedules based on peak hours to ensure adequate floor coverage, and submit payroll records on time.
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards set by Worldwide headquarters.
  • Organize company assets according to headquarters’ back-of-house and front-of-house guidelines.
  • Maintain an up-to-date borrow log and consignment program in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of sales management experience in retail, luxury retail or a service-related industry.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to analyze sales reports, identify business trends and respond quickly to business needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to create positive customer experiences that build loyalty and deliver measurable results.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Industry awareness and strong business acumen.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and excellent organizational skills.
  • Passion for the fashion industry.
  • Flexibility to work a retail schedule that includes evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Qualified candidates must have authorization to work in Canada.
