Gucci seeks Senior Store Project Manager in Shanghai to lead retail development from design through operations, managing budgets, compliance, and cross-functional teams.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end store project delivery from design feasibility through construction and handover to operations teams, ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders including landlords, consultants, and local authorities
- Coordinate issuance of design submission packages to Italy with all relevant stakeholders within established timelines
- Oversee tender management processes in collaboration with in-house contract manager and external consultants, from issue through queries, award, and final account reconciliation
- Develop and manage project budgets and costs for assigned retail developments
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management on project status and performance metrics
- Consolidate and synthesize data and information for management review and decision-making
- Support implementation of pop-up retail and promotional projects, coordinating with landlords, vendors, operations, and visual merchandising teams
- Manage facility operations and maintenance during pre-opening periods and transitions
- Maintain and enforce Gucci brand compliance standards across all assigned projects at all times
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail store project management or commercial real estate development, preferably with luxury brands
- Strong understanding of design, construction, and retail operations workflows
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate across multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with budget management and cost control in complex projects
- Knowledge of Chinese building codes, compliance requirements, and local submission processes
- Familiarity with luxury brand standards and positioning
Skills
Experience
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in retail store development, project management, or related commercial real estate roles, ideally within the luxury sector. Prior experience coordinating with Italian headquarters or international teams is advantageous. Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects in China or other regulated markets is preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, Real Estate Development, or related field. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are a plus.
