Gucci Senior Store Planning & Construction Project Manager in New York — lead high-end store renovations and new openings across North America.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale store renovation and new-build projects across North America, from initiation through to store opening and close-out.
  • Coordinate design development with regional leadership, global design teams, architects and consultants to translate brand intent into construction documents and technical packages.
  • Prepare and manage design submittals, bid packages and landlord/permit submissions; liaise with tenant coordinators and mall management.
  • Manage project budgets, cost summaries and multi-project capex forecasting in coordination with the cost controller and VP, Store Planning & Facilities.
  • Oversee contractor and vendor procurement, evaluate bid proposals, and ensure schedules, costs and quality standards are met.
  • Maintain and manage project trackers and weekly status reports to align cross-functional stakeholders (Visual Merchandising, Operations, Security, IT, etc.).
  • Perform periodic site visits, attend regular site meetings, coordinate inspections and certificates with authorities having jurisdiction, and drive punch-list completion.
  • Develop and issue maintenance manuals and ensure transfer of operational documentation to Store Directors; obtain lien waivers and fulfil landlord close-out requirements.
  • Support store openings on-site, coordinate transitions with Operations and VP, Store Planning & Facilities, and ensure design and construction deliverables meet luxury retail standards.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of combined luxury retail, architecture, and store planning/project management experience, with proven leadership of large, high-end retail store projects.
  • University degree (BA/MA) in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management or equivalent technical discipline preferred.
  • Demonstrated in-house store planning experience within the U.S. regional team environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of multi-level store build-outs, construction methods, millwork standards and luxury finishes.
  • Advanced budgeting and cost-control capabilities, with strong general math skills and proven invoice review/approval experience.
  • Exceptional scheduling expertise, including project phasing and rollouts across multiple locations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong cross-functional stakeholder management.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and frequent regional travel.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Experience

Minimum 15 years of combined experience in luxury retail, architectural practice and/or store planning project management, with a track record of delivering large-scale, multi-level retail fit-outs and renovations on schedule and within budget.

Education

University degree (BA or MA) in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management or a closely related field preferred.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 140,000 to USD 158,000 per annum.
