Gucci seeks a Senior Operations Controller in Rosemont for inventory management, stockroom oversight, and operational excellence in luxury retail.
Role & Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute shipping and receiving processes, reporting issues to Store Director or Operations Manager and resolving discrepancies promptly
- Ensure timely movement of merchandise according to procedures, including transfers, returns-to-vendor (RTV), and damage documentation
- Maintain accurate and organized store inventory by overseeing cycle counts, scheduled inventories, and reconciliation activities
- Develop and propose operational efficiency improvements to reduce costs and enhance store performance
- Support the sales team during peak periods to ensure exceptional client experience and brand service standards
- Communicate operational discrepancies and issues immediately to management for swift resolution
- Process repairs and damages in a timely manner according to company guidelines
- Assist with physical maintenance and upkeep of the boutique as needed
- Pack, handle, and store merchandise according to Gucci quality and preservation standards
- Place supply orders for office and store materials as directed
- Ensure full compliance with company standards, procedures, and security protocols
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of senior-level retail operations experience
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with demonstrated inventory management expertise
- High degree of ethics, professionalism, and integrity
- Ability to inspire trust and foster teamwork across store departments
- Thorough knowledge of stock control procedures and inventory management systems
- Proficiency in receiving, tracking, and storing luxury merchandise
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all stock management processes
- Capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across all store levels
- Physical capability to meet operational demands, including climbing ladders, bending, and lifting boxes
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays as required by retail operations
Skills
Experience
3+ years of senior retail operations experience with demonstrated expertise in inventory management, stockroom operations, and store logistics coordination. Prior experience in luxury retail or high-end fashion environments is preferred.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; further education in retail management, supply chain, or operations is advantageous.

This position is based in Rosemont, Illinois, USA, within easy reach of Chicago.
Compensation
The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 26 to USD 27 per hour.
