Gucci Retail Merchandiser in London: Drive merchandising strategy and category performance across Northern and Central Europe in this luxury retail role.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Own merchandising strategy and execution for assigned product category across Northern and Central Europe region
  • Lead buying activities and assortment planning, ensuring alignment between global, EMEAI, and local market strategies
  • Monitor category performance metrics, identify opportunities and risks, and implement actions to optimize sales, productivity, stock efficiency, and sell-through
  • Drive stock optimization and rebalancing initiatives to enhance inventory productivity
  • Serve as primary merchandising contact for assigned category between retail locations and EMEAI merchandising organization
  • Maintain comprehensive understanding of business trends, client behavior, competitive positioning, and market dynamics impacting category performance
  • Provide strategic category insights and recommendations to Head of Retail Merchandising and relevant stakeholders
  • Partner with Store Managers and retail leadership to maximize category performance and identify commercial opportunities
  • Collaborate with clienteling teams to translate customer insights into merchandising actions and assortment recommendations
  • Work with marketing and communications teams to support category priorities and key product launches across customer touchpoints
  • Coordinate with visual merchandising teams to ensure product presentation aligns with brand and commercial objectives
  • Conduct regular store visits and provide comprehensive business performance assessments across all product categories
  • Contribute observations, recommendations, and action plans to fellow retail merchandisers during store visits and business initiatives
  • Foster collaboration across regional functions to ensure consistency and operational excellence

Qualifications

  • Solid experience in merchandising, buying, or retail management within luxury or premium retail environment
  • Strong commercial and analytical capabilities
  • Solid understanding of buying processes, assortment management, and inventory optimization
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively across multiple functions and management levels
  • Strong knowledge of luxury retail dynamics, client behavior, and market trends
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to balance detailed category ownership with broader business and store perspective
  • Availability to travel frequently across assigned markets and to headquarters for buying activities
