Gucci seeks an experienced Retail Area Manager in Milan to lead strategic retail operations and drive sales growth across Southern Europe stores.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive retail strategy to maximize sales, revenues, and operational efficacy in alignment with brand targets and regional objectives
  • Maintain full Profit & Loss accountability, implementing cost-saving initiatives and driving productivity improvements across stores
  • Propose and implement innovative strategies to support retail business expansion and market needs
  • Organize business-development events, partner collaborations, and external relationships to develop the market
  • Analyze key data, KPIs, and performance figures to formulate strategic propositions and sales forecasts
  • Monitor sales, inventory, and stock performance by store; collaborate with merchandising and store leadership to optimize results and market understanding
  • Conduct competitive analysis to benchmark performance and ensure best-in-class retail standards
  • Supervise inventory management activities and make strategic decisions regarding stock control in partnership with retail operations and store leaders
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate store leadership teams to maintain high performance standards, drive sales, and ensure operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with HR and store leaders on recruitment, talent management, and performance evaluation
  • Execute store visits to assess business performance, client sentiment, and customer service delivery
  • Oversee new store openings and rollouts, coordinating cross-functionally to ensure successful project execution and adherence to timelines
  • Ensure ethical compliance and foster a culture aligned with brand policies across the market
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in the luxury fashion or retail industry
  • Proven track record in luxury retail sales management and business performance optimization
  • Strong people management and team leadership capabilities
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills across all organizational levels
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships founded on respect and trust
  • Fluency in both Italian and English
  • Data analysis and business planning competency
  • Knowledge of retail inventory management systems and merchandising principles

Compensation

The base compensation for this position is EUR 120,000 per annum.
