Gucci seeks a Ready To Wear Tailor in Milan. Join the Sample Atelier and construct prototypes across luxury apparel collections.
Role & Responsibilities
- Construct initial prototypes according to design specifications and pattern guidelines
- Evaluate and recommend construction modifications to improve garment fit and functionality, coordinating closely with the supervisor, pattern makers, and sampling technicians
- Revise garments based on quality assessments and defect corrections
- Complete sample garments with attention to finish detail and durability
- Produce industrialized pre-production garments ready for manufacturing scale-up
Qualifications
- Diploma in apparel technology or tailoring
- Expert knowledge of garment production cycles and all phases of garment construction
- Proficiency in operating sewing equipment (cutting and sewing machines, straight-stitch machines, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of fabrics and yarns
- Experience in pressing and finishing techniques
- Ability to rapidly and accurately interpret and work from pattern pieces
- Effective organizational and planning skills
- Fluent Italian and at least one additional language
Skills
Experience
Expert proficiency in the complete garment production cycle and all associated manufacturing phases, with demonstrated hands-on experience in atelier or sample production environments.
Education
Diploma in apparel technology, tailoring, or equivalent formal qualification in garment construction.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Milan, Lombardy, Italy.
