Gucci seeks an Operations Controller in Washington, DC to manage inventory, shipping/receiving and stockroom operations.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day stockroom operations including shipping, receiving, storing and movement of merchandise while escalating and resolving issues with Store Director or Operations Manager.
  • Execute cycle counts and scheduled inventories, reconcile discrepancies and maintain accurate, auditable inventory records.
  • Process transfers, RTVs (return to vendor), repairs, and damages in accordance with company guidelines and timelines.
  • Maintain clear and current operations documentation, procedures and compliance records for reference and audit purposes.
  • Communicate inventory discrepancies, security concerns and operational issues immediately to store management and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate orders for store and office supplies and assist with physical maintenance of the boutique as required.
  • Ensure adherence to company standards, security guidelines and tax-exempt form procedures.

Qualifications

  • 2–3+ years of experience in a similar inventory, stockroom or retail operations role; experience within fashion retail or the luxury sector preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of stock control procedures and inventory management software (receiving, tracking and storing merchandise).
  • High degree of professionalism, ethics and integrity with the ability to inspire trust and collaborate effectively across store teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with demonstrable accuracy in stock management processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, manage multiple priorities and remain flexible to varied hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Physical capability to perform role requirements including lifting, bending and climbing ladders.

Experience

Minimum of 2–3 years in inventory control, stockroom management or retail operations, preferably within fashion retail or a luxury brand environment.

Compensation

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 25 to USD 26 per hour.
