Gucci Leather Goods Design Intern in Milan: support the leather goods design team on sketches, digital renders, material research and mood boards.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the Leather Goods Design Team across the creative process, from initial concept to finished visuals for small leather goods (SLG) collections.
- Develop sketches and design proposals aligned with designers’ briefs and Brand guidelines.
- Prepare design presentations, mood boards, and creative materials for internal reviews.
- Create and refine high‑quality digital drawings, renderings and visuals; apply materials and textures to sketches and photographs.
- Assist with colour research, material coordination and documentation of product construction details.
- Conduct market and trend research to inform concept development and ensure brand relevance.
- Maintain and organise design archives, references, images and inspirational materials.
- Participate in creative brainstorming sessions and implement updates, corrections and finishing touches to renderings with rigorous attention to proportion, colour and realism.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Procreate; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fluency in English and Italian.
- Strong interest in fashion, trend forecasting and Brand heritage.
- Good organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under tight deadlines.
- Positive attitude, collaborative mindset and ability to operate effectively in a multicultural team.
- Knowledge of product construction, materials, techniques and industrial production processes is advantageous.
- Previous academic projects or internship experience in fashion or accessories design is a plus.
Skills
Experience
Academic coursework or prior internship experience in fashion, accessories or product design is desirable; hands‑on exposure to leather goods projects or SLG development is an advantage.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or current enrolment in a degree programme in Fashion Design, Product/Industrial Design, Accessories Design or a closely related discipline; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
