Gucci seeks an In‑Store Tailor in London (Bond Street) to perform Ready‑to‑Wear alterations, bespoke fittings and luxury finishing for VIP clients.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Execute high‑quality alterations on Gucci Ready‑to‑Wear garments using hand‑sewing techniques and industrial sewing machines, ensuring flawless finish and longevity.
  • Perform a full range of adjustments including hemming, sleeve and shoulder modifications, waist and seat shaping, tapering, relining, button and buttonhole work, and delicate repairs.
  • Measure clients precisely, conduct confidential fittings (including VIP clientele), mark required changes, and communicate fit options in partnership with Client Advisors.
  • Develop and modify individual patterns to suit client measurements while preserving the garment's original structure, proportions, and design intent.
  • Handle complex and embellished fabrics with specialist techniques to maintain aesthetic integrity and luxury finishing standards.
  • Inspect garments before and after alteration to ensure compliance with Gucci craftsmanship and quality control criteria.
  • Maintain accurate job records and update work status using the Kering Service digital system.
  • Manage daily workflow, turnaround times and tailoring priorities to meet store requirements and peak trading demands.
  • Ensure the tailoring workspace and equipment are clean, organised and compliant with health & safety standards; maintain sewing machines, pressing tools and hand tools.
  • Collaborate with Store Management, Client Advisors and Operations teams to support appointments, advise on garment limitations and contribute to an elevated in‑store client journey.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Tailor, Seamstress or Alterations Specialist within a luxury, high‑end or premium contemporary fashion environment.
  • Demonstrable experience fitting VIP or high‑profile clients with discretion and professionalism.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of garment construction, luxury finishing techniques and pattern adaptation.
  • Extensive hands‑on experience with delicate, complex and embellished fabrics.
  • Highly organised, able to manage high volumes while maintaining meticulous attention to detail and turnaround commitments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; fluency in English required.
