Gucci in Milan seeks a High End & Special Projects Senior Designer to lead couture‑level RTW innovation and special garments.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Define and develop a contemporary, experimental High End RTW vision aligned with the brand’s aesthetic and couture codes.
  • Lead creative experimentation on volumes, proportions and special constructions to shape unique silhouettes and one‑of‑a‑kind garments.
  • Translate Creative Direction into High‑End design concepts for Special Projects from research through final execution.
  • Drive research on materials, techniques, constructions and artisanal processes to push innovation while respecting brand identity.
  • Oversee the full design lifecycle—concept, sketches, development, fittings and final approval—ensuring coherence and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with Creative Ateliers, ArtLab, Product Development and Industrial teams to guarantee feasibility and craftsmanship quality.
  • Participate actively in fittings to refine volume, balance, movement and finishing toward the intended couture outcome.
  • Supervise delivery timelines and quality standards for special and unique garments and support final presentations when required.
  • Act as a design reference in key reviews and cross‑functional meetings related to High End RTW and Special Projects.
  • Guide, mentor and inspire designers and contributors within flexible, project‑based team structures.

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of experience as a Senior Designer in High End Ready‑to‑Wear, Couture, Special Projects or Made‑to‑Order within leading luxury or high‑fashion houses.
  • Proven track record in creative experimentation, volume studies and developing unique, highly expressive garments.
  • Advanced mastery of couture techniques, premium materials, complex constructions and artisanal processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a Creative Director‑led environment managing evolving briefs and high‑visibility projects.
  • Experience collaborating with Ateliers, ArtLab, Product Development and Industrial teams to translate creative vision into final product.
  • Proven experience leading and coordinating project‑based design teams and mentoring designers within multi‑disciplinary setups.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Italian and/or French is a plus.

Experience

Degree or equivalent qualification in Fashion Design, Costume Design or related discipline; advanced training in couture techniques, pattern cutting or artisanal construction is highly desirable.
