Gucci (Il Castello) in Castiglion Fiorentino seeks a Heel Wrapping Technician to join the footwear production line, ensuring heel preparation and finishing to Gucci quality standards.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform preparatory operations on heels (carding/roughening and levelling) to ensure correct substrate for subsequent wrapping.
- Execute heel wrapping (fasciatura) according to technical model specifications and production standards.
- Prepare and properly apply heel covering materials, ensuring correct placement and adhesive application.
- Ensure perfect adhesion and an immaculate aesthetic finish of the heel, meeting Gucci quality and visual standards.
- Inspect finished components for dimensional and visual conformity and report non-conformities to production leads.
Qualifications
- Minimum ten years of hands-on experience in heel wrapping or equivalent footwear finishing roles.
- Thorough knowledge of heel carding, levelling (spianatura) and wrapping techniques.
- Basic understanding of the overall footwear production cycle and interdependent processes.
- Exceptional manual precision, attention to detail and strong aesthetic sensitivity.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a production team and a strong orientation to quality.
Skills
Experience
At least 10 years of practical experience in heel finishing/wrapping or closely related footwear production roles, with demonstrable competence in hand-finishing techniques and quality control.
Education
Vocational training or apprenticeship in footwear manufacturing, leather goods or a related artisanal discipline preferred; equivalent prolonged practical experience accepted.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Castiglion Fiorentino, Tuscany, Italy, with easy access to Florence.
