Gucci in Castiglion Fiorentino seeks a Footwear Upper Stitcher to assemble and sew women's shoe uppers at Il Castello production site.
Role & Responsibilities
- Inspect cut components to verify quality and correct quantities prior to assembly.
- Interpret accompanying technical documentation (technical sheets, quality specifications, model references) to determine required skiving and finishing operations.
- Perform machine setup and ensure correct parameters for each model.
- Insert linings, align and pair components, and sew uppers in accordance with the model and technical sheet specifications.
- Prepare and maintain sewing machines and hand tools to guarantee consistent production flow and quality standards.
- Work collaboratively on the production line to meet target output while maintaining required quality tolerances.
Qualifications
- Several years of proven experience in upper assembly/sewing, preferably within luxury footwear and women’s shoe production.
- Proficiency with flatbed and column sewing machines.
- Solid knowledge of the footwear production cycle and assembly techniques (skiving, edge finishing, lining insertion).
- Ability to set up and maintain sewing machines and related equipment.
- High degree of manual dexterity, precision and attention to detail.
- Team-oriented attitude with strong reliability and work discipline.
Skills
Experience
Multiple years of hands-on experience in upper assembly/sewing within a footwear production environment, with preference for candidates who have worked in luxury women’s footwear.
Education
Vocational training in footwear manufacturing, sewing or a related trade is preferred; equivalent professional experience will be accepted.
Workplace
This position is based in Castiglion Fiorentino, Tuscany, Italy, within easy reach of Florence.
