Gucci in Castiglion Fiorentino seeks a Footwear Preparation Technician at Il Castello to perform skiving, gluing and component preparation for premium shoes.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform leather and component skiving according to model specifications and production tolerances.
- Carry out adhesive application and bonding operations in compliance with technical and quality instructions.
- Prepare components at the bench for subsequent operations (edging/welting, assembly and mounting).
- Inspect components before and after processing to ensure conformity with the required qualitative standards.
- Collaborate with production colleagues to maintain workflow continuity and support quality control procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven knowledge of skiving and gluing operations in footwear production.
- Familiarity with leather types and materials used in premium shoe manufacturing.
- Strong manual dexterity and capability to work to tight dimensional and qualitative tolerances.
- Keen attention to detail and sensitivity to quality finish.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a production team.
Skills
Experience
Previous experience in footwear or leather-goods production is preferred; candidates with on-the-job experience in skiving, gluing and bench preparation will be prioritised. Experience of work in a quality-driven, small-batch artisan environment is an advantage.
Education
Vocational qualification in shoemaking, leather goods, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience acquired in footwear manufacturing.
