Financial Controller, Mexico & Caribbean at Gucci in Mexico City; manage regional accounting, reporting, and compliance for luxury retail operations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead full month-end and year-end close procedures for Mexico, Aruba, and Panama, ensuring compliance with IFRS and Group accounting policies
- Deliver comprehensive P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reporting with detailed narrative analysis of key variances against budget and prior-year results
- Own the submission of financial data into Hyperion/Oracle HFM within Group-mandated deadlines, maintaining data quality and completeness
- Coordinate annual budget and periodic reforecast cycles for the perimeter in alignment with Latin America and Group timelines
- Develop scenario analysis and ad hoc financial models to support business decisions including new store openings, capital expenditure investments, and inventory purchasing
- Ensure full compliance with local statutory requirements, tax obligations, and Group policies across all three markets
- Function as the primary interface with Shared Services partners, ensuring quality and timeliness of information flows while building collaborative relationships
- Serve as key liaison with Group headquarters in Italy, the Americas Finance team in the US, and local market leadership
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Financial Controlling or Accounting within a multinational environment with exposure to multi-entity, multi-currency perimeters
- Demonstrated experience working with Shared Service Centre models where transactional accounting is managed by a third-party or centralized function
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, financial modelling, and VBA/macros
- Working knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) / Oracle EPM required; SAP knowledge is advantageous
- Solid understanding of IFRS; knowledge of local GAAP for Mexico, Panama, and/or Aruba is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Native or full professional proficiency in Spanish (required)
- Full professional proficiency in English (required)
- Italian or Portuguese language skills represent a meaningful advantage

Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Financial Controlling or Accounting within a multinational environment, with demonstrated exposure to multi-entity, multi-currency financial structures. Experience working with Shared Service Centre models and transactional accounting functions is essential. Background in luxury retail, consumer goods, or similarly complex, deadline-driven Group environments is highly preferred. Candidates must demonstrate proven success managing financial reporting across multiple markets and regulatory jurisdictions.
