Gucci seeks a Fabric Research and Development Intern to join its fabrics team in Milan from November 2026, supporting fabric development, sourcing, research, and organization for VIP, runway, and special-project collections. This internship offers exposure to the end-to-end luxury fabric development process and includes a monthly reimbursement of €750.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist with developing and monitoring fabrics, trials, and sampling activities with mills and suppliers.
- Create and maintain fabric archives, swatch libraries, technical documentation, and development tracking tools.
- Support the preparation of fabric presentations, collection reviews, fittings, and creative meetings.
- Collaborate with Design, Collection Development, Embroidery, Creative Atelier, and Product Development teams to ensure collection consistency and timely execution.
- Monitor fabric deliveries, sample requests, and development calendars.
- Update fabric databases and ensure accurate information on composition, pricing, lead times, and sustainability attributes.
- Conduct market and trend research to identify innovative materials, techniques, finishes, and construction methods.
- Support special projects related to VIP dressing, runway collections, and exclusive developments.
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Completed or ongoing degree in Fashion, Textile Engineering, Textile Design, Materials Science, Fashion Business, or a related field.
- Passion for fabrics, materials innovation, and luxury craftsmanship.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn.
- Team-oriented attitude and strong communication skills.
- Proactive approach and ownership mindset.
- Sensitivity to aesthetics, quality, and product excellence.
- Fluency in Italian and English.
- Excellent proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position is EUR 750 per month.
