Role & Responsibilities

  • Serve as strategic HR business partner to retail leadership, aligning people strategy with retail performance objectives and brand standards.
  • Lead and develop the retail People Partners team; set priorities, coach leaders, and ensure consistent HR service delivery across retail locations.
  • Design and maintain retail organizational structures, job designs and staffing forecasts to meet business demand and labour cost targets.
  • Oversee performance management processes in retail, including coaching, disciplinary practices, reviews, and quantitative/qualitative feedback to senior leaders.
  • Drive retail recruitment and selection strategies in partnership with Talent Acquisition to secure and develop a high-quality candidate pipeline.
  • Implement and steward talent management, succession planning, training and career-pathing programs specific to retail roles.
  • Ensure effective use of HRIS systems and other HR technologies by People Partners and retail populations.
  • Manage employee relations for the retail network: investigate complaints, resolve issues, and partner with legal counsel to mitigate risk.
  • Control retail labour costs and headcount; support design of commission, incentive and reward schemes that drive performance and retention.
  • Govern HR policy and compliance across retail, including leave administration, benefits awareness, and consistency with multi-state employment law.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM, HRCI) preferred.
  • 8–10 years of progressive Human Resources and/or retail management experience, including 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in luxury fashion retail HR, with responsibility for HR strategy across a retail network.
  • Deep knowledge of multi‑state U.S. employment law, HR best practices, and HR policy governance.
  • Demonstrated strength in employee relations, investigations, conflict resolution, and progressive discipline.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to link HR initiatives to retail performance metrics.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to support multiple retail locations as required and to operate in a fast‑paced environment.

Experience
