Gucci seeks Director of Indirect Procurement in New York to lead Americas procurement strategy across store construction, facilities, events, and professional services.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define and execute the Americas indirect procurement strategy in alignment with global procurement objectives and category strategies
- Partner with corporate business leaders to adopt best practices, methods, and KPIs; support regional rollout of cross-functional initiatives
- Identify, prioritize, and deliver optimization and value-creation initiatives with full accountability for results and compliance
- Establish financial, qualitative, and sustainability targets for procurement initiatives
- Lead, develop, and coordinate the regional indirect procurement team and community
- Manage expenses analysis and lead end-to-end procurement projects including requirements definition, sourcing strategies, scenario analysis, negotiations, contracting, and implementation
- Identify, onboard, and manage high-performing suppliers; define KPIs and governance frameworks; monitor performance, compliance, and risk
- Develop and implement procurement frameworks, guidelines, tools, and best practices across the organization
- Partner with Finance to ensure budget discipline, track savings, and measure total cost of ownership
- Monitor, consolidate, and report procurement performance using quantitative and qualitative indicators
- Support development of Brand Balanced Scorecard and contribute to executive-level reporting for senior leadership
Qualifications
- Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent
- Minimum 8 years of experience in indirect procurement, including project leadership, tender management, and cost-savings initiatives
- Proven experience operating in complex, international, and matrixed environments with ability to balance global standardization with regional flexibility
- Strong analytical capabilities including cost analysis, tender optimization, and scenario modeling
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills
- Strategic mindset combined with hands-on, execution-oriented approach
- High standards of professional ethics, integrity, and accountability
- Collaborative leadership style with strong problem-solving and team-building capabilities
- Valid work authorization to work in the United States
Skills
Experience
Minimum 8 years of indirect procurement experience, including project leadership, tender management, and cost-savings initiatives. Experience in complex international environments and/or the fashion and luxury industry is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in matrixed, multinational organizations while balancing standardization with regional flexibility.
Education
Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent qualification.
