Gucci is seeking a CNC Machine Operator and Setter in Cortaillod to produce small batches, set up and operate CNC and conventional machines, inspect parts, and maintain production equipment. The role requires 5 to 10 years of similar experience and a CFC in production mechanics or micromechanics, or equivalent qualification.
Role & Responsibilities
- Produce small batches on CNC machining centres, including lathes and milling machines, performing machine setup, start-up, series changeovers, and machine loading and unloading.
- Ensure produced parts meet specifications by carrying out quality checks with appropriate measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers and dial indicators, and implement corrective actions when deviations occur.
- Operate conventional machines, including a Schaublin 102 lathe and milling machine.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, operating sequences and manufacturing documents.
- Perform first-level maintenance on production equipment.
- Work closely with technical teams to contribute to continuous improvement in processes, quality and workshop performance.
Qualifications
- CFC qualification in production mechanics or micromechanics, or an equivalent qualification.
- Knowledge of machining techniques and CNC machines.
- Knowledge of machinable materials, including stainless steel, brass, precious metals, aluminium and polymers.
- Ability to work effectively in a demanding, constantly evolving environment.
- Rigour, precision and a strong quality mindset.
- Team spirit and good communication skills.
- Autonomous and proactive, with a solution-oriented approach and strong technical analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
