Role & Responsibilities
- Assist the editorial and production manager in the end-to-end production of art publications, from editorial follow-up to manufacturing and distribution coordination.
- Act as a primary liaison with cultural partners (museum directors, curators, museum editorial teams, artists) and with external suppliers (graphic designers, editors, proofreaders, translators, photogravers, printers).
- Prepare and monitor project schedules; follow the progress of dossiers and ensure deadlines are met.
- Attend editorial and production meetings and report on action points and timelines.
- Compile and inventory the constitutive elements of books; conduct iconographic research and prepare bibliographies and indexes.
- Proofread texts, perform check-ins and integrate corrections; control digital files prior to printing (prepress checks).
- Coordinate colour corrections and plotter proofs; supervise final corrections with suppliers.
- Track and monitor production budgets and prepare supporting documents for financial and legal teams.
- Draft and manage authors' rights contracts and transmit contractual and manufacturing information to commercial, legal and financial services.
Qualifications
- Enrolment in a recognised vocational or higher education programme in publishing, art history, communications, editorial studies or applied arts (BTS, Licence professionnelle or equivalent).
- Strong spelling and writing skills in French; demonstrable editorial accuracy and attention to detail.
- Genuine interest in the visual arts, art history and the graphic production chain.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities and work to strict deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills; comfortable coordinating with cultural institutions and external suppliers.
