Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end NPD projects from opportunity identification to final delivery, ensuring on-time, on-quality, and on-budget execution
  • Manage and develop the Packaging Technologist, setting objectives, managing performance, allocating workload, and providing escalation support
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships; work cross-functionally with brand colleagues to facilitate communication and project execution
  • Conduct project kick-off and status update meetings with key stakeholders to maintain alignment and drive progress throughout the NPD process
  • Lead project governance across timelines, critical path activities, risk management, recovery planning, Stage Gate adherence, documentation, and KPI delivery
  • Support supplier onboarding, tender processes, supplier selection, and pipeline planning aligned with brand and business objectives
  • Provide technical input on feasibility, risks, innovations, technologies, supplier requirements, and project timelines to inform brand and market strategy
  • Ensure projects meet sustainability targets, regulatory requirements, quality standards, and testing and trialling protocols, including bottling line performance
  • Manage packaging development budgets and maintain accuracy of packaging data, item specifications, technical drawings, and supporting documentation
  • Monitor global supplier capabilities, emerging technologies, and innovation trends relevant to packaging development
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the NPD process

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience in NPD, packaging development, or product management
  • Proven experience in team leadership and line management
  • Demonstrated competency in leading cross-functional teams in a matrix environment
  • Strong understanding of packaging development project challenges, risks, and technical considerations
  • Knowledge of manufacturing environments and packaging production processes
  • Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability
  • Proven influencing, negotiating, and stakeholder management skills
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to use initiative and maintain a 'can do' attitude
