Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end NPD projects from opportunity identification to final delivery, ensuring adherence to time, quality, and budget parameters
  • Manage and develop the Packaging Technologist through objective-setting, performance management, workload allocation, and escalation support
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships and facilitate cross-functional collaboration with brand colleagues
  • Lead project kick-off and status update meetings with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and drive progress throughout the NPD process
  • Oversee project governance encompassing timelines, critical path activities, risk management, recovery planning, Stage Gate compliance, documentation, and KPI delivery
  • Support supplier onboarding, tender processes, supplier selection, and pipeline planning aligned with brand and business objectives
  • Provide technical expertise on feasibility, risks, innovation opportunities, supplier requirements, and project timings to meet brand and market demands
  • Ensure projects comply with sustainability targets, regulatory requirements, quality standards, testing protocols, and bottling line performance specifications
  • Manage packaging development budgets and maintain accuracy of packaging data, item specifications, technical drawings, and associated documentation
  • Monitor global supplier capabilities and stay current with emerging technologies and innovation trends within the packaging and manufacturing sectors
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimise NPD processes and outcomes

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in new product development, project management, or packaging development
  • Proven experience in team leadership and direct line management
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing environments and packaging development challenges, risks, and technical considerations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects simultaneously
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software (MS Project or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication skills at all organisational levels with ability to influence and negotiate effectively
  • Meticulous attention to detail combined with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Self-motivated with proven ability to use initiative, demonstrate flexibility, and maintain a solutions-oriented mindset
